Since being launched in 2021, the Toyota Corolla Cross has enjoyed tremendous sales success as it became SA’s best-selling SUV, best-selling hybrid vehicle and SA’s second best-selling passenger vehicle.
Now the Toyota Corolla Cross has been treated to a number of updates, including a new exterior design, to assist it in maintaining that sales momentum.
The Corolla Cross retains its two-engine strategy which includes a 1.8-litre petrol engine and ultra-fuel efficient 1.8-litre hybrid powertrain.
What’s new?
The Corolla Cross now features a bold new look that includes a geometric bumper and grille design while redesigned headlamps featuring sequential turn signals on XR and GR-S models enhance visibility.
XR and GR-S models now feature uniquely shaped Bi-Beam LED lamps and crystal-like LED daytime running lights. The rear end has been updated with a reimagined light design featuring an inner lens for greater precision and uniformity.
On hybrid models a sleek new carbon-neutral badge adds a modern touch.
Interior improvements
Inside, premium materials elevate the cabin experience and include real stitching on the instrument panel and console lid, along with high-quality carpets featuring a heel pad.
Additional convenience features include the addition of an electric parking brake, USB Type-C ports and rear occupant detection for added safety.
Seating has been updated with reclining seats in the rear and newly designed seat trims that feature sophisticated dark brown accents.
The Corolla Cross now features a larger, high-resolution display audio screen, which offers three customisable display options, and which comes standard with wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto smartphone connectivity.
On XR and GR-S grades a newly digitised instrument cluster offers improved visibility and personalised driving themes.
Added convenience
Loading and unloading has been made easier than ever thanks to the introduction of a power back door and kick sensor on GR-S models.
The rear-view monitor has also been updated to offer clearer views in order to assist with parking and reversing. XR and GR-S grades now feature a 360-degree Panoramic View Monitor for enhanced visibility when driving and convenience when parking. The introduction of an electric parking brake across all grades and the removal of the old school foot operated hand brake further modernises the cabin.
Model range and pricing
All Toyota Cross models are sold as standard with a six-services/90 000km service plan and a three-year/100 000km warranty. HEV models carry an eight-year warranty on the hybrid battery.
