GWM is expanding their local range with another SUV, as they launch the Haval H7. This new model takes up the flagship position in the Haval range.
The Haval H7 promises to offer enough space for a family and all their kit, luxury features that exceed those of the H6 and a high degree of off-road capability.
Retro styling
As opposed to the elegant shapes of other Haval models on offer, the H7 features a more retro look, emphasised by a square shape, round headlights, large alloy wheels housed in bold wheel arches and a sculpted side profile.
All H7 models ride on 19-inch alloy wheels that feature a futuristic, dual spoke design. A set of functional roof rails round off the exterior highlights.
All lighting is LED and the headlights also feature unique-deep wall technology that adds a premium look and which are recessed into black surrounds in the split front bumper.
Modern, functional interior
The interior is dominated by a large, floating, 14.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system and facilitates a full wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto experience. Ahead of the driver is a 12.3-inch instrument cluster that is fully customisable with a variety of display configurations including an off-road screen on models fitted with that capability.
Lower down, the centre console is dominated by an aviation-style gear shifter that incorporates controls for the drive train, terrain assist system and dynamic safety features.
Smart features include integrated grab handles, a multitude of storage spaces and even a removable rear luggage floor that doubles up as a camping table. The rear luggage compartment measures 483 litres and can be expanded to 1362 litres with the rear seats folded away.
Standard equipment includes a panoramic sunroof, electrically adjustable front seats and full leather upholstery. Super Luxury models add front seat cooling and seat and mirror adjustment with memory function to the offering.
Two engines to choose from
At launch the Haval H7 will be available with two engine options. This includes the 2.0-litre turbocharged engine that offers 170kW and 380Nm and which can be paired with either a four-wheel drive or a front-wheel drive drivetrain. The transmission is a unique, nine-speed wet dual-clutch which has been designed for optimal shifting comfort and high-speed efficiency.
The H7 is also available with GWM’s turbocharged hybrid engine paired to a dual hybrid transmission. This option delivers a combined power of 179kW along with 530Nm.
Real off-road ability
The four-wheel drive Haval H7 offers buyers a high level of off-road ability thanks to the use of a variety of clever technology.
Off-road mode offers a low-speed bird’s eye view of the surroundings, as well as an AI-enhanced image of the surface below the vehicle, giving the driver the best possible vantage point for technical off-road driving.
The all-wheel drive system is controlled by an all-terrain mode system that adjusts all the features of the vehicle, including power settings, steering sensitivity and engine mapping to match the road conditions and driver intentions with modes specifically tailored for Grass/Gravel, Convex roads, Sand, Snow and Mud as well as for Sporty, Standard and Economical driving.
Helping to traverse tricky terrain is a jaw-type rear differential lock, which can be engaged by the driver when required.
A unique off-road cruise control function allows drivers to smoothly control their speed across obstacles and can be set in increments of 1km/h.
Complimenting this innovative off-road technology are generous off-road dimensions including a 24-degree approach angle, 30-degree departure angle and 19-degree crossover angle as well as a ground clearance of 210mm.
A comprehensive suite of safety equipment
Safety features across the range include six airbags Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control, Cornering Brake Control, ABS brakes with Emergency Brake Assist and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring system.
Making driving easier is the fitment of hill descent control and hill hold control, a USB port for powering a dashcam, reverse radar and a full 360-degree camera system along with an additional 180-degree electronic view or a full 560-degree view.
A complete suite of Advanced Driver Assistance systems includes Adaptive Intelligent Cruise Control.
Model range and pricing
All models are covered by a seven-year/200 000km warranty, seven-year unlimited roadside assistance, a seven-year/75 000km service plan and an eight-year/150 000km warranty on the high voltage components of hybrid models where applicable
