Audi is expanding the engine range of its popular Q3 to include a new 35 TDI engine alongside the existing 35 and 40 TFSI powerplants offered in the Q3 and Q3 Sportback ranges.
This new 2.0-litre TDI engine offers 110kW and 340Nm from 1 750rpm and is paired with Audi’s seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission and front wheel drive, allowing it to accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 9.2 seconds on its way to a top speed of 207km/h. The TDI boasts an impressive claimed fuel consumption of 4.9 litres/100km. The smooth running powerplant boasts two balancer shafts in the crankcase in order to minimise internal friction and enhance refinement.
In South Africa the 35 TDI will be sold with Urban Edition or Black Edition trim lines as part of Audi South Africa’s strategy of offering buyers maximum value and convenience when choosing their vehicles. Both the Urban and Black Edition packages bundle together the features that South African buyers love most in their Audi models.
The Urban Edition package offers a more classic Audi design language along with chrome highlights and includes 18-inch wheels, a panoramic glass sunroof, parking aid plus, Comfort key, rear-view camera and electric tailgate as standard.
The Black Edition favours more contemporary trim combinations, with blacked-out elements throughout as well as noteworthy features such as 19-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic glass sunroof, black exterior mirror housings and black styling package plus, parking aid plus, comfort key, rear-view camera, electric tailgate, black headliner, electrically adjustable sport front seats, seat heating, a flat-bottomed steering wheel and the storage and luggae compartment package.
