BOTHAVILLE - The highly anticipated Mitsubishi Outlander will finally make its local debut at this year’s Nampo Harvest Day, the largest agricultural show in the Southern hemisphere, held annually in Bothaville.

At Nampo Harvest Day Mitsubishi will showcase four new models to the public for the first time and headlining this product rollout is the all-new Mitsubishi Outlander.

“We are very excited that we are able to finally share Mitsubishi’s new flagship model with the public and feel that Nampo Harvest Day is the perfect location to do so,” says Jeffrey Allison, General Manager: Marketing at Mitsubishi Motors South Africa (MMSA).

Staying true to what the Mitsubishi brand stands for, the Outlander features a modern design, the best in all-wheel drive technologies and convenient seating arrangement for seven occupants making it a fitting flagship to the Mitsubishi range.

The modern design and Mitsubishi’s Dynamic Shield create a substantial presence that is accentuated by LED front fog lamps, LED sequential turn signals and daytime running lights, front and rear skid plate, silver roof rails, rear spoiler with LED high-mounted brake light and 20-inch alloy wheels.

Mitsubishi will also be offering a number of accessory packages, including body kits that will allow customers to customise their vehicles in a way that compliments the exterior design and features a fit and finish of the same level as factory fitted components do for the all-new Outlander.

The all-new Outlander is fitted with a 2.5-litre DOHC engine that produces 135kW at 6 000rpm and 245Nm at 3 600rpm and is coupled to an eight-speed CVT transmission that delivers effortless acceleration from any speed, slicker gear changes and a smoother ride. Designed to keep the engine at optimum performance at all times, the CVT ensures improved fuel efficiency and lower emissions with the Outlander using just 8,1 litres per 100km on the combined cycle.

Ensuring that the Outlander lives up to the legendary off-road pedigree that Mitsubishi models are synonymous for is Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC), an innovative electronically controlled AWD system that uses intuitive sensors to maximise vehicle control, distributing power to all four wheels, while four driving modes balance economy and performance. S-AWC supplies optimal torque to the rear wheels for enhanced traction, stability and control and integrates with Active Yaw Control, which uses braking to distribute torque to the left and right.

The cabin oozes superior luxury and comfort with the Outlander’s 4710 mm exterior length translating into an exceptionally spacious interior. The interior layout, comprising of seven seats, offers multiple configurations for any and every loading need. The four-spoke leather steering wheel is tilt and telescopic adjustable and is home to cruise control buttons and paddle shifters. A 12,3 inch Digital Driver Display is flanked by an eight-inch Smartphone-link display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on GLS models or a nine-inch unit on Aspire derivatives. Three-zone Automatic Climate Control ensures that all passengers travel in comfort. The centre console houses a sleek gear selector, rotary drive mode selector and electronic hand brake.

When it goes on sale the Mitsubishi Outlander will be offered in two derivatives badged GLS and Aspire. GLS models feature an extremely high level of standard specification while Aspire models gain eight-way power adjustable, power lumber support and memory function driver’s seat, leather seats, a nine-inch Smartphone-Link Display Audio with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Navigation, a power sliding panoramic sunroof and reverse auto tilt mirrors.

“Since its global launch the all-new Outlander has received numerous awards including the 2022 iF Design Award and 2022 Australian Good Design Award amongst many others and we are excited to finally be able to share this exciting new model with the public,” concludes Allison.
