Toyota have announced details of the upgraded Supra as well as a A90 Final Edition, of which only 300 units will be released globally.
The latest update to the Supra ensures a more integrated driving experience for unrestrained driving joy. Updates include improved braking performance thanks to the fitment of Brembo front disc brakes, increased body rigidity, optimised suspension and chassis tuning and enhanced aerodynamic performance.
In conjunction with a new chassis setting, the active differential control has been optimised to reduce understeer during cornering and to improve handling.
The characteristics of the situation responsive electronically controlled shock absorbers have been revised and the front stabiliser has been strengthened to improve driving performance.
Body integration has been improved through strengthened rubber bushings, which conveys road information better and contributes to more precise handling. The rear underfloor brace structure has been strengthened to increase body rigidity and improve the sense of directness and grip.
In line with these updates the electric power steering has been optimised to deliver a more direct steering sensation along with improved control.
Exterior updates include the fitment of matte black wheels, a ducktail carbon-fibre rear spoiler that joins forces with added front wheel arch flaps and higher front tyre spats for optimised front and rear aerodynamic balance and downforce.
Inside, the driver’s seat is now embroidered in Alcantara and genuine leather. A ring, the stitching on the shift knob of manual vehicles and the seatbelts have been finished in red.
Motorsport inspired Supra A90 Final Edition
Toyota Gazoo Racing has also created a limited edition Supra A90 Final Edition, celebrating the culmination of the current generation Supra.
The A90 Final Edition is fitted with numerous upgrades including increased engine power and torque, improved braking capability and body rigidity as well as the fitment of a KW suspension system and performance focussed tyres. These changes transform the Supra into a special, ultra high-performance, high-spec model that has been optimally tuned in line with the Supra’s natural evolution.
Intake and exhaust modifications which include the fitment of an Akrapovic exhaust result in a power increase from 285kW to 320kW and a torque increase from 500 to 570Nm. Various cooling modifications are in place to deal with this additional performance.
On A90 derivatives the 19-inch Brembo brakes have been drilled for additional cooling performance while stainless steel brake hoses maximise braking performance.
Adjustable KW suspension, which is the same as that found on the GR Supra features 16 rebound stages and 12 compression stages. Further suspension improvements include strengthened rubber bushings, a strengthened front cowl brace and a revised camber angle. Lightweight 19 and 20-inch wheels front and rear are fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres.
Aerodynamically enhanced exterior
The exterior of the A90 Final Edition is characterised by an improved aerodynamic profile that was fine-tuned by GR Supra GT4 development leader Toyota Gazoo Racing Europe. Additions include a carbon fibre front spoiler, front canards and carbon-fibre swan-neck rear wing reminiscent of the wing found on the GR Supra GT4. A carbon fibre bonnet duct incorporates a removable inner duct for improved cooling performance when removed.
Motorsport inspired interior
The interior is characterised by the fitment of Recaro Podium carbon fibre bucket seats with Alcantara covered seat pads. The driver’s seat is finished in red in order to accentuate the driver orientated design of the cockpit.
The steering wheel, door trim, centre console kneepad, centre armrest, shift knob boot and centre portion of the instrument panel are also covered in Alcantara while red seatbelts and carbon fibre scuff plates add a final touch of exclusivity.
