In the early days the
Sportage offered an alternative choice to the expensive German offerings. Since then, the vehicle has become more premium and in some cases holds its own against the competition. So what is the new
Sportage like? We got behind the wheel to find out.
Kia’s new design language – Opposites United – is at the core of the
all-new Sportage, influencing every aspect of its appearance and character. The latest
Sportage boasts a bold new design that sets it apart from its predecessors. The front grille has been enlarged and now features a diamond pattern, giving the vehicle a more aggressive and sporty look. The new
Sportage also has a more sculpted body, with sharp lines and a sleek profile that exudes confidence and style. We particularly like the LED headlights with their arrow head like DRL's. The facia definitely attracts attention, it looks modern, sporty and aggressive.
The interior of the 2023
Sportage has also been updated with a range of new features designed to enhance the driving experience. The cabin is spacious and comfortable, with ample legroom and headroom for both the driver and passengers.
The dashboard features a large high-tech 12.3-inch touchscreen display that houses the infotainment system, which is compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additionally, the
Sportage comes with a premium sound system, climate control, and a range of driver-assist features. We also admire the full digital instrument cluster which can be changed to suit the prescribed driving mode. It is easy to use and visually appealing.
The
all-new Sportage offers 996 mm legroom for second-row passengers and 1000mm headroom, while luggage capacity is 591 litres. Great for your next family adventure.
Aligned with the evolution of the Sportage nameplate as one of Kia’s flagship products, the all-new Sportage is offered, for the first time, only with a 1,6-litre T-GDi petrol engine, and exclusively with an advanced version of Kia’s 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT). The turbocharged engine endows the all-new Sportage with a hearty balance of power and performance, while the DCT aids in delivering exceptional fuel consumption.
The engine delivers 132kW of power with 265Nm of torque. It allows the Sportage to reach the 100 km/h mark in 8.8 seconds.
This new
Sportage comes equipped with a range of advanced safety features designed to keep drivers and passengers safe on the road. These features include adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and automatic emergency braking.
The
Kia Sportage is a great choice for those looking for a stylish and comfortable
SUV. It has plenty of features, a powerful engine, and a comfortable interior. The drive is great and the safety features ensure that you arrive at your destination in perfect harmony.
