Chery have expanded their local offering with the launch of the new Tiggo Cross, which slots into their line up above the Tiggo 4 Pro.
The Chery Tiggo Cross boasts an eye-catching exterior design, a spacious solidly crafted cabin and will be available in Comfort and Elite specification.
Eye-catching design
The Chery Tiggo Cross makes an impression with its imposing black grille that features an intricate diamond pattern and which seamlessly integrates with the vertical daytime running lights. The front end is rounded off by equally striking triple-element LED headlamps.
The side profile reflects strength and balance, while adhering to the classic golden ratio for a harmonious profile. A prominent shoulder line flows smoothly towards the blacked-out C-pillar, enhancing the dynamic stance. The rear end is rounded off by a jewel-like lightbar. Comfort models ride on 17-inch alloy wheels while Elite models are fitted with 18-inch alloys.
Both models feature automatic LED headlights, body coloured door mirrors and handles, a sporty tailgate spoiler and chrome-trimmed exhaust tips. The Elite adds a further sporty touch thanks to red-coloured brake callipers.
Under the bonnet
All Tiggo Cross models are powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged, four-cylinder petrol engine that offers 108kW and 210Nm of torque. This is paired to a six-speed dual clutch transmission that transfers power to the front wheels. A standard stop/start system reduces fuel consumption when stationary, while modes including Eco, Normal and Sport allow the driver to choose the best combination of performance and fuel efficiency according to their needs.
Well-appointed interior
A well-appointed interior features a wide variety of luxury and convenience features. This includes a premium soft-touch dashboard, leather trimmed steering wheel and black leather upholstery. Creature comforts include dual-zone climate control, keyless entry, push-button start, cruise control, ambient lighting, front and rear armrests, automatic windscreen wipers, a reverse camera, remote start and front and rear parking sensors. Elite models also feature a high-definition 360-degree camera and Intelligent High beam Control.
A 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system keeps passengers entertained and includes Bluetooth and wireless Android Auto or Apple CarPlay connectivity. A smart voice assistant allows the driver to control various functions effortlessly.
Standard safety equipment includes dual front airbags, front side airbags and side curtain airbags, while the Elite model adds a centre airbag between the front seats. Active safety features include traction control, emergency brake assist, electronic stability control, hill assist, auto-hold, tyre pressure monitoring and a speed limit reminder.
Elite derivatives are fitted with additional driver assistance features in the form of Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot detection, Front Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning and Intelligent High Beam Control.
