A passenger version of the Peugeot Expert, called Expert Tepee (as in Red Indian tent), was added to the local model range.
For R339 000, the Tepee is fitted with several safety and convenience features for its role as people-carrier, such as a driver's seat with height adjustment and lumbar support, fold-down armrests for front seats, separate air conditioning controls for passengers, auto-locking doors, cruise control, twin airbags, ABS braking and ISOFIX child seat tethers. The Tepee is clearly an MPV aimed more at transport needs for a business, rather than for private use, making it ideal for corporate segments such as hotels, tourism and off course transporting people during the 2010 World Cup. It is suited to those who need a mid-size people carrier that is spacious, as well as easy to purchase, drive and maintain, as it is not a taxi or a bus.
Peugeot also showed their entire local panel van range to media: there are 3 panel van ranges to cater for different requirements and for varying size of business and load-carrying capacities. The smallest Peugeot panel van is the compact and easy-to-drive Partner, coming in at R155 900 for a 1.6 petrol, or the 1.6HDi at R168 200. Next up in size is the Expert, costing R248 550 for the 2.0HDi-engined model. The biggest panel van range is the Boxer, available in different lengths and heights, to cater for different requirements. Prices start at R239 500 for a Chassis Cab 2.2HDi, up to around R315 000 for a huge 4-ton panel van. All prices quoted include VAT, but this tax can be claimed back on commercial vehicles.
