207 Hatch and CC Quick Launch
Sometimes a car gets a facelift even before it is needed. Peugeot 207, even though it still looks young and fresh, was just given some upgrades for styling, name and equipment.
Peugeot has a very strong family face, with the distinctive front-end of the Peugeot 207 updated by means of a revised grille and repositioned fog lamps (where applicable) – the front no longer consists of a single large grille, as this grille is now joined by two smaller side grilles. 207 Urban and Active models are fitted with a larger black grille, whereas the 207 Dynamic model grille has chrome highlights and fog lamp surrounds. GTi and CC models are done in gunmetal grey. Dynamic and CC models also get chrome flank inserts.
The rear design is brought up-to-trend with LED lamps – unusual for this segment. Various new wheel designs are fitted, too. Updates inside include new trim and detailing, a new more user-friendly air con panel, a 1-touch indicator function, with convenience closing added to cars with electric windows.
Facelift 207 Peugeot Model/ Spec
No more XL, XR or XS for facelift 207 Peugeot models, which will be known as Urban, Active and Dynamic, though GTi and CC Sport 2 models remain as is. The 3 shapes, namely 3-door, 5-door and CC coupé-cabriolet, will again be available. The 207 CC Sport 1 model, using the normal 1.6, was dropped – only the Sport 2 with 1.6 turbo will carry on.
Dynamic models now have ESP (Electronic Stability Program) as standard, plus an electro-chromatic inner mirror. A USB port and Bluetooth are standard on Dynamic and 207 CC (Coupé Cabriolet) models, whereas the CC also gets tyre pressure sensors.
Engine/Gearbox
Urban models are equipped with a fresh EURO 5-compliant 1.4 engine. The Peugeot 207 Active model's new 1.4 engine has variable valve timing and lift, for extra power and efficiency. The Dynamic petrol model benefits from this new valve trickery too, sending power up from 80 to 88kW, while the 1.6HDi Dynamic diesel retains its frugal engine. Both Peugeot GTi and CC keep their 1.6 turbo engine, again in different states of output.
A welcome addition to all Peugeot 207 facelift models is a service plan lasting 4 year or 60 000 km. All models are front-drive 5-speed manual.

Price and Market Positioning
Peugeot's 207 range is seen as one of the most modern and stylish hatch ranges, while a 207 CC is almost in its own segment. The facelift, added spec (and no doubt the added service plan) means that the prices have all risen – the entry-model Urban 3-door is now R150 000 on the dot, the 1.6 Dynamic exactly R200 000, with the CC at R285 000. These Peugeot 207 are not cheap, though each offers a style-conscious and aspirational package that makes it desirable.
Favourite Line from Media Release
"The revised 207 range still offers three-door and five-door hatchback versions, as well as the athletic, highly attractive CC, with a choice of advanced petrol and turbodiesel engines."
